In case you finish Pb early and think, "I haven't run enough today," and quick drive over to Manitou Springs and catch the start of PPM? You wouldn't make it back to Pb in time to receive your award at Noon, though.
Dang... would that even be possible? Run both in the same weekend? Holy crap! Talk about a DOUBLE! If you could do Pb in under 24 then boogie back to Manitou and go straight to the start? Now THAT would be cool.
If memory serves me good I am sure Marshall Ulrich did that very thing.
Although I am wondering when some nut bag is gonna double the Ascent, and Pb. I am fairly certain it is mathematically possible (Summit Pikes at 10, get to Leadville at 1PM, then you have essentially 21 hours to get the 30 hour buckle ... not sure though if cutoffs would screw that up though).

I wish. Ulrich's double is pretty freaking sick. I think I'll have my hands full on Saturday.
The PPM rego is mostly a hedge in case of unforeseen circumstances: injury, etc.
GZ, sounds like the cutoff requirements would keep that double from happening. Heck, it almost sounds easier that way, although I would advise coasting a 3:30 or 4:00 before cruising the next 100. Ugh.
Yeah, did that as well about 9 hours ago.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize LT100 and PPM were on different weekends this year... That is so cool that you are going to do both... LOL! :)

ReplyDeleteI am currently the only Pleasant Valley resident to run Leadville and PPM in the same year, beotch.

Thanks GZ! If anyone could have done it I'd had put money on Ulrich myself. Sean... go for it! :)
